A Shrug at Winter

Standard

I had one last winter project in the works that I finished up in front of the TV last night. I’m sure will still be plenty of days to get use out of this cozy shrug before packing it away for those brief couple months of warm weather.

I used this pattern from Lion Brand as a start, (it’s just a big rectangle in a rib stitch) but added in a couple rows of openwork stitches right around where the shawl collar would turn, around rows 20 or 22, so I could weave trim through for a little interest.

My trim is a selvage I salvaged (oh, that’s a cute turn of phrase) from a gray matte jersey that works just perfectly here.
